ABUTILON BUTTERCUP

Abutilon Buttercup - well, we offer no prizes for guessing the colour of the flowers on this attractive variety, which forms a nice compact rounded shrub festooned with large open bell-like flowers in a luminous shade of yellow. Good grower and very floriferous. One of our favourites.

Hardy to around 0C to -5C. Sun or semi-shade. Any reasonable soil. To around 100 cm.

The earliest reference we can find to Buttercup as a named cultivar is 1879, so it’s certainly one of the older abutilons still in cultivation.

Abutilon Buttercup is a half hardy evergreen shrub with maple like foliage and pendant clear yellow bell shaped flowers in spring, summer and autumn.
