ABUTILON RUSSELL’S DWARF
Russell’s Dwarf is, as the name suggests, a more compact cultivar, growing to around a metre in height. The striking arrowshaped leaves display mottled creamy yellow variegation, and the medium sized open bell-shaped flowers are coloured a strong crimson red.
Laurence Hatch’s 2013 cultivar guide lists it but doesn’t offer any suggestions as to origin.
Hardy to around 0C to -5C. Sun or semi-shade. Any reasonable soil. 50 to 100 cm.
Abutilon Russell’s Dwarf is a half hardy evergreen shrub with variegated foliage and pendant crimson red bell shaped flowers in spring, summer and autumn.
