ABUTILON THOMAS JACKSON

Thomas Jackson is named in honour of the grandson of the current holders of the National Collection. It sports good sized strong red flowers with an open form topped rather delightfully by a fawn coloured calyx rather like a pixie’s hat. A 2013 introduction from T3 Nursery.

Hardy to around 0C to -5C. Sun or semi-shade. Any reasonable soil. 100 cm to 180 cm.

Abutilon Thomas Jackson is a half hardy evergreen shrub with maple like foliage and pendant red bell shaped flowers in spring, summer and autumn.
