ABUTILON VIOLET BUCKENHAM
The flowers of Violet Buckenham are of a rich and deep dusky pink, borne in the usual profusion on a strong and sturdy upright plant. Very eye catching indeed.
This undoubted beauty is a very rare variety of uncertain origin. It is described on the Kari’s Garden blog dated 2011: Kari herself can’t recall what nursery she had it from. And (see below) it is to be found in the gardens of the National Trust property of Powis Castle.
Hardy to around 0C to -5C. Sun or semi-shade. Any reasonable soil. 150 cm to 200 cm.
We originally sourced Abutilon Violet Buckenham from plant material obtained from Powis Castle Garden.
Abutilon Violet Buckenham is a half hardy evergreen shrub with maple like foliage and pendant rich deep pink bell shaped flowers in spring, summer and autumn.
