ABUTILON BENGAL

The flowers of Abutilon Bengal are of a warm orangey red capped with a fawn calyx suffused with purplish tones. It’s a recent acquisition so we can’t say much more that it makes a fine shrubby plant with a good display of flowers. Nothing wrong with that.

Hardy to around 0C to -5C. Sun or semi-shade. Any reasonable soil. 100 cm to 150 cm.

We originally sourced Bengal via the Plant Heritage plant exchange: it is a T3 introduction from 2014.

Abutilon Bengal is a half hardy evergreen shrub with maple like foliage and pendant warm orangey red bell shaped flowers in spring, summer and autumn.
