ABUTILON GERDEMANN’S RED

A relatively recent US introduction, Gerdemann’s Red is a compact cultivar that produces copious quantities of small but perfectly formed pendant flowers in a shade best described as tomato red. It clearly has megapotamicum in its makeup so should have a good degree of cold tolerance. Forms a nice well-branched bushy shrub.

Hardy to around 0C to -5C. Sun or semi-shade. Any reasonable soil. 50 cm to 100 cm.

Abutilon Gerdemann’s Red is a half hardy evergreen shrub with maple like foliage and pendant tomato red bell shaped flowers in spring, summer and autumn.
