ABUTILON JOHN THOMPSON

John Thompson is a fine upstanding well-branched shrub with lots of large open bell shaped flowers in a striking shade of sunny golden yellow. Although we think it’s a modern variety, you have to wonder if there is any connection with Abutilon Pictum var. Thompsonii? Whether there is or not, it’s a handsome thing.

Hardy to around 0C or perhaps a bit lower. Sun or semi-shade. Any reasonable soil. 100 cm to 180 cm.

Abutilon John Thompson is a half hardy evergreen shrub with maple like foliage and pendant golden yellow bell shaped flowers in spring, summer and autumn.
